So I found another amazing song. This time it was whilst watching music videos on CMT. There's a new movie coming out, with Toby Keith, and it has a pretty amazing song by a young lady named Lindsey Haun. I heard it for the first time today, and it's so great, I iTunes'd it right away. Yess.
And of course, the lyrics:
Lindsey Haun, "Broken"
Wake up to a sunny day
Not a cloud up in the sky
Then it starts to rain
My defenses hit the ground
And they shatter all around
So open and exposed
I found strength in the struggle
Face to face with my trouble
Chorus
When you're broken in a million little pieces and you're tryin'
But you can't hold on anymore.
Every tear falls down for a reason.
Don't you stop believing in yourself.
When you're broken.
Little girl don't be so blue,
I know what you're goin through.
Don't let it beat you up.
Hittin' walls and gettin' scars only makes you who you are...
only makes you who you are.
No matter how much your heart is aching,
there is beauty in the breaking....yeeeaaaahhh
Chorus
When you're broken in a million little pieces and you're tryin'
but you can't hold on anymore.
Every tear falls down for a reason.
Don't you stop believing in yourself.
When you're broken.
Bridge
Better days are gonna find you once again every piece will find its place!
Chorus
When you're broken in a million little pieces and you're tryin
but you can't hold on anymore.
Every tear falls down for a reason.
Don't you stop believin' in yourself,
When you're broken.
Pretty awesome, eh? I like it, a lot.
So today Elizabeth and I went to Rock Cut State Park here in Rockyford, IL and we canoed and hiked. It was quite a trip. The canoeing was very nice. We were quite normal throughout that whole adventure. We got some good pictures. I have to figure out how to put them on my computer, and then I'll share them with you. Then we decided to go for a short hike. We hiked along a nice path quite a distance before we realized we didn't really know where we were. So then we tried to go back, and we found the perimeter of the park (which is not the same as the parking lot where the car was parked). So then we set off another direction. A cute little frog crossed our path, and I picked him up. We became friends. I didn't name him then, but in retrospect, he was so totally a Gianfranco. Anyway, we took pictures of me and Elizabeth kissing the frog. Then we put him down (after he peed all over my hand...that was a nice touch). Then we kept hiking...and hiking...and hiking, and a few miles later we finally found the car. Seriously, I don't know what happened. I'm usually good with directions - but this was beyond the beyond. So we finally got ourselves to the car (at this time I have no shoes because they were blistering my feet...so I'm trekking down the street, carrying my shoes, wearing my John Deere hat. Classy. Then I drove back to my house (barefoot) and dropped off Elizabeth...then I ran to the store to get stuff for dinner. When I got out of the car, I said kind of loudly "Where the heck are my shoes??" and this older man in the car next to me totally scowled at me, and I realized what a hick I looked like...and I looked at him and laughed really hard. He probably thought I was a loon. Oh well. Then I ran to work, helped finish inventory, and got off work at 11:10. I ran to Mickey D's and got myself some health food for dinner, and here I sit. Long day.
Happy St. Maximilian Kolbe, though! Woot!
And tomorrow is the Assumption! Double woot!
Pax out.
